Miriam Freimer , M.D.

Miriam Freimer is associate professor of Neurology in the Department of Neurology at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She has been on the staff at The Ohio State University since 1992 in the division of Neuromuscular Diseases and has been the director of the Electromyography (EMG) laboratory since 1994. She is the co-director of the Myasthenia Gravis clinic.

Biographical Sketch

Originally from White Plains New York and then Sylvania, Ohio, Dr. Freimer received her BA from The University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pa in 1980 and her MD from the Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1985. She completed her medical internship at The Ohio State University in 1986, and neurology residency and fellowship training in neuromuscular diseases at The Johns Hopkins University Hospital in 1992. She is board certified in Neurology as well as added qualification in Neurophysiology.

Research

Dr. Freimer has participated in a wide range of clinical trials in the area of neuromuscular diseases including myasthenia gravis (MG), chronic inflammatory demyelinating neuropathy (CIDP), dermatomyositis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), iodiopathic painful neuropathies, and hereditary neuropathies.
