Madalina Tivarus
I received my BS and MS degrees in Physics from University of Bucharest, Romania, and my MS degree in Biophysics from Ohio State University. Currently I am a graduate student in the Biophysics Program at OSU, working towards my PhD degree.
My research focuses on using an advanced brain scanning technique, namely functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), to map the function of the human brain. fMRI is a non-invasive technique which provides high spatial and temporal resolution reports of neural activity detected by a blood oxygen level dependent signal (BOLD). I am particularly interested in understanding the neural mechanisms of language processes, as well as the effect of drugs on brain function.
